I've been looking around for some time now for a way to get a nice stabilized camera slider shot. I've tried a few different things like the pico dolly and rigwheels. But what if I didn't have a smooth surface around? Well, the pico dolly and rigwheels have some setups for that, but I found something different.

Most video sliders, DIY camera sliders, DSLR camera sliders, are all pretty much the same. They provide some length of rail or rod to slide the camera trolly down the rail. It's true with Konovo, with Varavon Slidecam, and with the juicedLink DIY Slider. Their mechanisms for rolling along the rails are somewhat different. I decided to try out the juicedLink.com DIY slider kit because it could be table or tripod mounted and it could go horizontal or vertical.

I played with the kit with 5' rails for a few weeks and then began to wonder about motorizing the kit. On the juicedLink.com website, near the bottom, they highlight Gary Bagelman's solution to motorizing the slider. That is what this video is about, a motorized DIY juicedLink camera slider. I grabbed all the parts listed and made one or two small modifications. All of the parts are listed below the video, including a total cost to build.
