Website hosting facilities are consume a lot of energy. The servers run hot and the facility needs to stay at a constant temperature, which means it needs to be cooled down. For this reason, I only offer a green hosting plan. I resell this plan from another company. It's very difficult to power a data center with solar or wind power, so this company purchases carbon credits to offset their energy usage.
